WebTrends Engage 2009: Take Part in Our Most Interactive Customer Conference Ever
Between now and early April, we're doing everything we can to create our most relevant and interactive customer conference ever. We recently launched the WebTrends Engage 2009 site for you and other customers to tell us what you'd like to see on the agenda and begin interacting with the presenters and other customers.
We're planning 2 1/2 days of practical learning that will help you turn your web site data into real improvements in marketing performance. Smaller, more intimate sessions, workshops and informal networking sessions will provide more personalized learning experiences and increase interaction among customers and presenters. Visit the Engage 2009 site to learn more.
Now we'd like to hear from you. If you haven't already, please visit the new blog and tell us about your recurring marketing optimization challenges and the analytics insight that drives value throughout your business. We'll listen and respond to your thoughts, and publish the full agenda in January.

Five Golden Rules for Online Retailers
After traditional retailers close their doors on Christmas Eve, online retailers will be watching their holiday sales continue to grow. Last year, four million shoppers in Great Britain alone made more than £84 million (US $125 million) in online purchases on Christmas Day, while their brick-and-mortar counterparts prepared for the post-Christmas deluge of returns and loss-leading sales.
"However, without a firm grasp on how customers are actually interacting with your web site, you could end up with a disappointing slice of the Christmas retail pie," Conrad Bennett, a senior technical director at our EMEA headquarters in London, warned online e-tailers in a recent WebTrends press release.
Conrad, who has helped some of the world's biggest retailers become successful e-tailers, put together a set of tips to help squeeze as much online business as possible out of this year's holiday shopping season. But the trips are pertinent for any time of the year.

Tip Corner: Understanding Average Visit Duration
The average amount of time visitors spend on your web site gives you a far better picture of online engagement than visits or page views alone. You can find the Average Visit Duration for your web site in the Visitor Summary table of the Overview Dashboard in your WebTrends Analytics.
