IBM Websphere Portal Analytics Implementation

In February 2009, Webtrends joined the IBM User Experience Optimization Initiative (UEOI). Webtrends for WebSphere Portal, the first collaborative solution born out of this partnership, enables IBM's portal software to accurately pass relevant data from portlets into the SmartSource Data Collection Server. This data can then be used to optimize WebSphere Portals and make better marketing decisions using social-based technologies.

The Webtrends-enabled portals eliminate the manually embedding of tags into portlets and themes. This makes it easier to measure user activity, and complete targeting and design improvements that increase customer satisfaction and decrease infrastructure, tuning and testing costs. The Webtrends for WebSphere Portal tags directly interact with the WebSphere Portal structure, enabling automatic tracking of user names, search queries, portlets, content groups and other rich data collection and analysis. Webtrends Analytics adds measurement and comprehensive reporting to identify the areas that are working and those that require refinements.
